Maria Chesley Fisk, Ph.D., is the Deputy Director of Health Games Research, a national program funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Pioneer Portfolio. Health Games Research works to advance the design and effectiveness of digital interactive games used to improve health. Also a researcher, her current interests include the interaction of empirical research and the design and use of digital health games.  Before joining Health Games Research, Maria was the Director of Professional & Organizational Support Services at the Cooperative Educational Service Agency #1, where she directed a department that provided professional development, grant writing and implementation, and teacher training services in the greater Milwaukee area. Prior to that she served as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Michigan School of Education. Maria received a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Michigan’s School of Education and an M.Ed. from the Marymount University School of Education and Human Services. She received her B.A. from the University of Virginia.
